This past week I was interviewed by Jay Furst of the Rochester Post Bulletin. He offered to have the paper photographer catch me with the statue of Wapahasha II at Wabasha, MN. I took photos of the placques placed there, with the summaries of the three chiefs Wapahasha lives which I wrote several years ago. The article was published on October 13. My only regret is that I wasn't given time or space to get into some details on the causes of the Dakota War.

On October 9, 2012 I gave a lecture at Minnesota State University (MSU) at Mankato. I spoke about the history of the Dakota people in Minnesota, as part of a lecture series to honor the 150th anniversary of the Dakota War. Had a good-sized audience and invitation to return.
