Rock Art
Some years ago, my wife and I took a trip to Idaho and Wyoming. While in Idaho, looking for something to see, we learned of an obscure place on a mountain side, where there was a collection of drawings on rock. These are called "pictographs" because the American Indians who drew them used paint. This picqued my interest in "rock art" of the Native American. Some time later, we visited Mt. Zion National Park in Utah. We were able to find some petroglyphs, or rock art that had been incised or pecked into the rock face by aboriginal artists. From then on, I have been avidly traveling back and forth to the southwest and west to photograph more rock art sites. We have been to New Mexico several times, Wyoming last summer, and Arizona this summer (2010). In the process I have amassed quite a collection of photographs and I hope someday to be able to publish some of the more interesting and artistic photos.
